The “Temporomandibular Joint”, more commonly referred to as the “jaw joint”, assists in the basic opening and closing movements of the jaw. Unfortunately, this joint and related jaw musculature is a common area for recurring pain. Trauma, tooth grinding or clenching, repeated wide opening and excessive gum chewing may cause problems in this area.

We offer an examination of the TMJ and related musculature. Treatment generally includes physical therapy and the use of custom fabricated oral appliances.
